DESCRIPTION
This module focuses on the importance of managing your work style and behaviors. This module provides participants with a research-based skills self-assessment related to time management styles. The self-assessment is complimented with an exercise to apply tips to manage one’s time style. The material then transitions to the two overriding principles: 1) organizing tasks and 2) prioritizing them. Participants have several opportunities to practice such prioritization. Then the guidelines for saying “no” to unimportant tasks are discussed and a short role-play exercise allows participants to practice saying no in an assertive, yet professional way. The module concludes with an instructor-led dialogue concerning the challenges of working for multiple bosses.
