DESCRIPTION
This module focuses on the importance of managing your own work style and behaviors. This module emphasizes two overriding principles: 1) organizing tasks and 2) prioritizing them. Participants have several opportunities to practice such prioritization. A lengthy group exercise allows students to practice prioritization strategies. In addition, guidelines for saying “no” are discussed and a short role play exercise allows participants to practice saying no in an assertive yet professional way.
Optional content includes instructor led dialogue concerning the challenges of working for multiple bosses and a discussion of working styles with an optional self-reflection exercise.
