DESCRIPTION
Technical skills get you in the room. Emotional intelligence is what lets you read AND lead it. Emotional intelligence is the foundation of professional development skills. It’s the root system that makes communication, leadership, and relationship management actually work. This course moves beyond technical competence to build the human skills that actually drive results: stronger client relationships, better teamwork, and more resilient leadership under pressure. You’ll explore the four core components of EI (self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, and relationship management) through a mix of instruction, hands-on exercises, and assessments. By the end, you’ll have a clear baseline of your own emotional intelligence and a practical plan for strengthening it.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Read the room by recognizing emotions and understanding their impact on yourself and others
- Navigate pressure by managing stress, regulating emotions, and staying composed when conflict arises
- Practice empathy by actively listing and seeking to understand other perspectives
