Effective communication is an important part of successful interactions and collaboration in government audits. This module provides participants with practical tips and behaviors that can strengthen verbal, nonverbal, and written communication in government audit settings. Participants will explore how different communication approaches can influence workplace interactions and audit scenarios.

The module also provides an overview of active listening and gives participants opportunities to practice selecting the appropriate communication method for different situations. Through practical activities, participants will consider common barriers to communication, sources of communication noise, and strategies for reducing disruptions that can affect understanding and outcomes.

Participants will also explore nonverbal communication cues and how to respond appropriately, along with the key characteristics of effective teams. By applying these communication and collaboration techniques to government scenarios, participants can strengthen their ability to communicate clearly, work effectively with others, and support team performance in government audits.
